ICC Cricket World Cup 2011 event logo unveiled in Mumbai


The International Cricket Council (ICC) launched the logo of the ICC World Cup 2011 in Mumbai on Tuesday, which will be hosted by India, Bangladesh and Sri Lanka jointly.

Decision on BDR mutineers trial Wednesday

An inter-ministerial meeting will decide the trial procedure of Bangladesh Rifles (BDR) mutineers on Wednesday.
The meeting, to be chaired by the Law minister Shafique Ahmed will discuss the proposal of BDR authorities on the ways of holding trial of the mutineers and finally take the decision.

Rise in terrorism & worrying law and order situation

Unearthing of a mine-manufacturing plant and arrest of the top explosive expert of Juma`atul Mujahideen Bangladesh (JMB) have once again raised doubts about claims from different quarters that militant threat doesn`t exist in Bangladesh. Law-enforcers conducted several raids into terrorists` hideouts and training centres in the capital on Thursday night and Friday and discovered two large bomb-making plants, including a mine-manufacturing factory, allegedly run by the JMB, arresting its top momb-maker and his suicide-bomber wife, seizing a huge quantatity of grenades, bombs, firearms, high explosive/gun powder, batteries, acid and mine-making equipment. A few weeks ago members of law-enforcing agencies uncovered a large militant training centre at Borhanuddin of Bhola and    details....

JSD leader Hasanul Huq Inu, the lawmaker elected from Kushtia-2, recently had a tete-a-tete with Dr. Shamim Hayder Talukder, the Managing Editor of The-Editor,net- the largest online newspaper and news agency of Bangladesh.
